Château de Saint-Cyr-du-Gault

"We stayed in the residence next to the chateau sharing the grounds. It was a great place for a family reunion."

"The gardens at the chateau St Cyr-du-Gault provide an intimate location for a wedding. As the mother of the bride, I saw that is was a very difficult venue for a wedding, the major difficulties being the distance from service providers and the lack of internet. The chateau owners are also difficult and my daughter tried to change the location purely due to this, but it was too late. 1. The owners stayed at the chateau for the whole time. Whilst they said they "would be invisible" they weren’t: (a) On the morning of the wedding, whilst we were busy getting dressed and ready, the owners and their family accessed the jite (making numerous trips) to move furniture. This interfered with our caterers and the owners were in the way. (b) The owners put two white plastic chairs on either side of the front door of the chateau. They sat there watching us for long periods of time (and interfering), and didn't move them. (c) The owners parked their buggy on another side of the chateau which was an eyesore. Together with the chairs mentioned above, this made photography difficult. (d) The owners had family members to the chateau for the weekend of the wedding. This was inappropriate and invasive. (e) The owners greeted some wedding guests which was inappropriate. 2. The owners had a family function at the chateau on the same weekend. They closed-off areas of the gardens for the weekend, many of which they had specifically advised could be used (eg lakes, bridge over a dam). 3. The owners demolished the ceremonial area and wanted to charge extra for the new pavilion (which they backed-down on). This meant there was no aisl to walk down - the area near the water feature was not wide enough and there was a leak somewhere, as the ground was boggy and our shoes were damaged. It also made it difficult for the photographer as she had to constantly walk around the pond and jump over the water feature. 4. The owners are paranoid with security and would not allow the main gates to be opened on the Friday or Saturday morning to allow access for the suppliers. They gave a (faulty) remote control for the gate but later confiscated it – they wanted everyone to contact us by sms so we could open the gate as the owners did not want the intercom used. This was extremely problematical, due to the time it took and the poor mobile service. 5. It was very difficult for anyone who caught a taxi to the venue, as lack of mobile reception meant that payment of the taxi fares could not be made by card facility. 6. There was no wifi. Organising a wedding is a major event and that there is a lot of co-ordination required on the weekend so this was extremely inconvenient. 7. The owners sent copious sms messages, especially on the morning of the wedding ... this was annoying due to the nature of the requests, but also the lack of mobile service saw messages delayed, or unable to be actioned. 8. The owners didn't want cars driving on the stones around the chateau because "they get messed up." As this was the only access to the pavilion, it was unreasonable. 9. The pavilion is small and very hot when people are in it, even with all the doors and windows open. Ceiling fans and/or air conditioning should be installed. 10. The bridal suite, jite and separate jite were not cleaned prior to arrival. There were spider webs and hundreds of dead insects.The groom vacuumed the suite on arrival. 11. The owner said the separate jite was left messy, but didn’t give info when asked. A jite with a couple of beds can't be left messy, other than the beds unmade so sheets could be washed! 12. The owners gave no help with garbage disposal, which was our responsibility. We couldn't drop it at the local disposal facility and the owners didn't help us access this, despite numerous requests. 13. The owners said they would not make a claim on the deposit (and it was left cleaner and tidier than when we arrived), it took many weeks for the deposit to be returned. 14. The owners did kindly return a computer charger that was left behind."

"Nous avons choisi le domaine à la simple vu des photos, puis une visite en visio plus tard nous sommes tombé sous le charme. Cet endroit c’est comme une deuxième maison. Une fois qu’on y est, nous n’avons plus envie d’en partir. Le parc est parfaitement entretenu, les gîtes sont pratiques et permettent de loger bon nombre d’invité et la salle !!! La salle est absolument divine. Étienne et Brigitte sont généreux et font preuve de bons conseils. Le château a fait craqué l’ensemble de nos invités et nous cherchons déjà un prétexte pour y retourner."

"Nous avons eu le plaisir de célébrer notre mariage au domaine du Château de St Cyr du Gault en juin 2024, et cela a été un véritable coup de cœur. Les propriétaires ont joué un rôle crucial dans la réussite de cet événement si important. Dès le début, ils ont fait preuve d’un accueil chaleureux. Leur communication a été parfaite tout au long des préparatifs : ils étaient toujours disponibles pour répondre à nos questions et nous aider à anticiper et résoudre les moindres détails, faisant preuve d’une grande réactivité et d’une véritable volonté de rendre notre journée inoubliable, en nous donnant de très bons conseils. Ils ont été très flexibles, ont respecté toutes leurs promesses et ont même surpassé nos attentes, proposant des petits plus qui ont fait toute la différence. Le week end du mariage, ils étaient présents sans être envahissants, veillant discrètement à ce que tout se déroule sans accroc. Leur professionnalisme et leur gentillesse ont rendu notre mariage absolument parfait. Un immense merci à eux pour avoir fait de cette journée un moment inoubliable !! Le domaine lui-même est magnifique, parfaitement entretenu et d’une propreté irréprochable. Nous avons été impressionnés par l’attention portée aux détails et par la beauté des lieux, qui ont contribué à créer une ambiance festive et romantique. Les gîtes ont été également très appréciés. C’est un véritable plus d’avoir pu loger nos familles sur place, et qui plus est dans un cadre aussi charmant. Le verger est fraîchement rénové avec goût, et nous n’avons manqué de rien! En résumé, nous ne pouvons que recommander chaleureusement cet endroit.
