"Dear Sirs,||My husband and I were guests at the Chabenet Castle from 19 to 24 May 2025||(booking number 136213577, in “Premium” apartment number 22). While the Castle||itself is enchanting and set in a charming location, the luxury hotel we were||expecting to find - and for which we had been charged - did not exist. We have been||Hapimag members for many years now, and have stayed in various locations with||either hotel or self-catering options, so it was a bitter disappointment for us to find||that, what we thought was going to be a hotel, had, in reality, been downgraded to a||glorified B&B since no room service whatsoever was provided: our room was never||cleaned, the wastepaper baskets were never emptied, bed and bathroom linen never||changed, etc. etc., with the obvious result that our room grew dustier and dirtier by||the day…||There was no prior notification of such a lack of service and, when we||queried this, the Receptionist told us that Hapimag no longer offered any cleaning||service in the hotel nor was it supplying any utensils or products for clients to do the||cleaning themselves!!! What did Hapimag expect? Did you think that guests should||drive to a nearby town and buy a vacuum cleaner or a broom and dustpan as well as||other cleaning utensils and products?||What is the explanation for this absurd situation? Does Hapimag have financial||constraints that oblige it to look for ways to cut expenses (while, however, charging||increased rates)?||I know for sure that other Hapimag members feel exactly the same as I do, but I||won’t go into that here as I am sure you will be hearing from them directly.||As regards service, I was disappointed to find the coffee machine in the breakfast||room not working properly on Thursday, but with no notice informing guests of this||nor was a thermos of hot milk made available to make up for the impossibility to||prepare a hot cappuccino. This continued until our departure on Saturday when, by||then, the coffee machine was removed and an apologetic note posted in its place.||However, while two thermos flasks of watery coffee were made available, there was||no thermos of hot milk…||All in all, a very disappointing holiday. For my part, I shall not be recommending||Chabenet to family and friends nor to business associates, in fact quite the contrary.||Sincerely,"

"What a location, felt like our own medieval Castle (we had to re enact a monty python scene on the castle wall LOL) A great stop over en-route to the Dordogne. Our accommodation was outside (opposite) the castle but we then got the views! There is an honesty bar, when the restaurant is closed."

"Our first visit to Chabenet was memorable for all the right reasons. Our room was large, comfortable and very quiet. The whole Hapimag team did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We found a lot of interesting places to visit in the neighbourhood and explored several walks in la Brenne."

"Great. Restaurant was great, both for breakfast as dinner. Maybe a bigger fridge in the room could be more helpful. There were no excursions, but we did our trips with our own car. More simple offerings at the honesty service would be appreciated."
